Band

Instrumental music students in grades 6 – 8 become members of The Fairfield Center School Concert Band, which rehearses at the Common School twice a week.  The Concert Band performs several times during the school year at our Holiday & Spring Concerts, Report Nights and special events, which occur throughout the school year, and in the spring becomes the award-winning Fairfield School Marching Band appearing in the Vermont Maple Festival Parade.

Accomplished middle school students are selected to participate in the Vermont Music Educators Association two-day Northwest District Music Festival in April at Missisquoi Valley Union Middle and High School, presenting a concert with over two hundred of their musical peers from Franklin and Chittenden counties.

Fairfield Band members combine with instrumental music students from St. Albans City and Town Schools, B.F.A. St. Albans and neighboring schools to create the Greater St. Albans Middle School Band which tours and performs bi-annually: New York City: Liberty Park, 2016, 2012, 2008; Grant’s Tomb, 2004; USS Intrepid, 1999; Washington, D.C.: Smithsonian Museum, 2014, 2010, 2006, 2001, 1997.
